88 Small Business Advocacy Day; and for other purposes.2
99 WHEREAS, small businesses are the backbone of our economy, representing 99.7 percent3
1010 of businesses in the State of Georgia; and4
1111 WHEREAS, in recognition of the significance of small businesses, Small Business Advocacy5
1212 Day serves as a platform to celebrate their contributions and address their needs; and6
1313 WHEREAS, the Small Business Majority, the Women's Entrepreneurial Opportunity Project7
1414 Inc., the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs,8
1515 Our Village United, Kindred Futures, and Georgia First are organizations dedicated to9
1616 advocating for and supporting small businesses in Georgia; and10
1717 WHEREAS, these organizations play a crucial role in empowering entrepreneurs, fostering11
1818 economic growth, and promoting equitable opportunities for small business owners across12
1919 various communities; and13

2222 WHEREAS, these organizations are committed to fostering a thriving environment for small

2424 businesses and entrepreneurship in Georgia.15
2525 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body16
2626 commend the Small Business Majority, the Women's Entrepreneurial Opportunity Project17
2727 Inc., the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs,18
2828 Our Village United, Kindred Futures, and Georgia First for their efforts to empower19
2929 entrepreneurs, promote economic development, and advance opportunities for small business20
3030 owners across the State of Georgia.21
3131 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body recognize March 5, 2025, as22
3232 Small Business Advocacy Day in acknowledgment of the many remarkable contributions23
3333 made to Georgia's economy by small businesses.24
3434 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25
3535 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the26
3636 press.27
