55 Honoring the life of Sergeant Patrick Michael Sondron and dedicating a bridge in his

77 memory; and for other purposes.2
88 WHEREAS, born on July 21, 1975, in Miami, Florida, Patrick Michael Sondron was the3
99 cherished son of Michael and Patricia Sondron; and4
1010 WHEREAS, following his graduation from Orange Park High School in 1993, Sergeant5
1111 Sondron enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served as a guardian of this6
1212 nation's freedom and liberty; and7
1313 WHEREAS, he continued to serve his community through a career in law enforcement,8
1414 starting his career in 1999 with the Fort Valley Police Department, adeptly serving on the9
1515 Byron Police Department, and dedicating 13 years to the Peach County Sheriff's Office,10
1616 where he was a sergeant for the patrol division and a member of the SWAT team; and11
1717 WHEREAS, Sergeant Sondron was highly regarded by the citizens of his community and12
1818 state and by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity and dedication13
1919 to the sound principles of law enforcement; and14

2222 WHEREAS, a dedicated public servant, a respected partner in law enforcement, and a kind,

2424 level-headed individual, Sergeant Sondron had a profound impact on the Warner Robins16
2525 community, and his loss deeply affected the citizens of Peach County; and17
2626 WHEREAS, Sergeant Sondron exhibited extraordinary devotion to public service,18
2727 outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all of his duties, and19
2828 it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be20
2929 recognized appropriately by dedicating a bridge in his memory.21
3030 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL22
3131 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the bridge on State Route 49 over Interstate 75 (Exit 149)23
3232 in Peach County is dedicated as the Sgt. Patrick Sondron Memorial Bridge.24
3333 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and25
3434 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Sgt. Patrick Sondron26
3535 Memorial Bridge.27
3636 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed28
3737 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the family of29
3838 Sergeant Patrick Michael Sondron and to the Department of Transportation.30
