88 WHEREAS, Girls on the Run is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that helps2
99 girls in grades third through eighth develop social, emotional, and physical skills through3
1010 running and other activities that build confidence and resilience; and4
1111 WHEREAS, Girls on the Run Georgia inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident5
1212 using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running and envisions a6
1313 world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly7
1414 pursue her dreams; and8
1515 WHEREAS, 92 percent of Girls on the Run Georgia participants learned better ways to deal9
1616 with strong emotions, and 99 percent of participants felt a sense of belonging at Girls on the10
1717 Run; and11
1818 WHEREAS, Girls on the Run Georgia celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025 and has had12
1919 the honor and distinction of providing opportunities for girls across the State of Georgia to13
2020 build confidence, become healthy, manage emotions, resolve conflicts, and form connections14
2121 with other girls in their communities; and15

2424 WHEREAS, Girls on the Run Georgia remains committed to reaching all girls and building

2626 confidence through physical activity.17
2727 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body18
2828 commend Girls on the Run Georgia and its thousands of stakeholders, including donors,19
2929 volunteer coaches, staff members, the Board of Directors, the Young Professionals Board,20
3030 and school and community partners, who have contributed their time, talents, treasure, and21
3131 testimony to make this milestone possible.22
3232 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed23
3333 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Girls on the Run24
3434 Georgia.25
