| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been headquartered3 |

| 10 | 10 | | in Atlanta since 1946, contributing to Georgia's role as a hub for public health and federal4 |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | operations; and5 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, the presence of the CDC, along with various other federal offices in Georgia,6 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | has led to a highly skilled federal workforce within the state; and7 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, shifts in federal employment policies have resulted in changes to workforce8 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | distribution and agency operations across the country; and9 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, some federal agencies are exploring opportunities to relocate or establish offices10 |

| 17 | 17 | | in different regions; and11 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Atlanta, as the capital of Georgia and a major economic and cultural center of12 |

| 19 | 19 | | the South, is well-positioned to serve as a strategic location for federal investment and13 |

| 20 | 20 | | workforce expansion; and14 |

| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Georgia seeks to strengthen its role as a national leader in innovation, economic |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, attracting skilled federal employees to Georgia would benefit the state's17 |

| 27 | 27 | | workforce and economy while providing new opportunities for those affected by federal18 |

| 28 | 28 | | employment changes.19 |

| 29 | 29 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 |

| 30 | 30 | | urge all state departments, agencies, boards, and other instrumentalities to explore strategies21 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | to attract displaced federal employees to Georgia's workforce.22 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body encourage legislative action23 |

| 33 | 33 | | to support and incentivize employment opportunities for displaced federal workers in both24 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | public and private sectors within the state.25 |

| 35 | 35 | | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 |
