A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending RUMC Job Networking; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, since its founding in 1988, RUMC Job Networking, a ministry of Roswell2
United Methodist Church, has provided invaluable support to job seekers throughout the3
metro Atlanta area, helping individuals secure employment, change careers, and re-enter the4
workforce; and5
WHEREAS, this distinguished ministry has grown into one of the largest and most impactful6
job networking programs in the United States, having served more than 90,000 individuals7
through its comprehensive career development services and networking opportunities; and8
WHEREAS, RUMC Job Networking meets every second and fourth Monday of the month,9
offering a full seven-hour program supported by over 155 dedicated volunteers, including10
business leaders, career coaches, human resources professionals, and recruiters; and11
WHEREAS, the ministry's extensive workshops and services include resume reviews,12
LinkedIn optimization, interview preparation, overcoming ageism in the job search, stress13
management, and networking through the Industry Guide Program, all aimed at equipping14
job seekers with the tools necessary for career success; and15

WHEREAS, RUMC Job Networking has additionally hosted numerous Mini-Job Fairs and
16
has welcomed employers to bi-monthly meetings, offering job seekers direct access to17
employment opportunities and fostering a bridge between talented professionals and hiring18
organizations; and19
WHEREAS, the impact of RUMC Job Networking has been widely recognized, including20
a brief 2010 feature on Diane Sawyer's ABC World News Tonight and a two-hour special21
hosted by Clark Howard on WSB-TV; and22
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize RUMC Job Networking for its23
unwavering commitment to empowering job seekers, strengthening communities, and24
fostering professional growth.25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26
recognize and commend RUMC Job Networking for its decades of service and dedication27
on behalf of job seekers in the State of Georgia and beyond as well as extend best wishes for28
its continued success.29
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to RUMC Job31
Networking.32
