25 LC 112 3517 Senate Resolution 469 By: Senators Orrock of the 36th, Kemp of the 38th, Anderson of the 43rd, Davenport of the 17th, Harbison of the 15th and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Gene Ferguson; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Gene Ferguson on March 3, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Gene Ferguson gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and4 deep concern for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he5 demonstrated to his family and friends were admired by others; and6 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation7 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he8 made this world a better place in which to live; and9 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Gene Ferguson will long be remembered10 for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great11 fortune of knowing him.12 S. R. 469 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3517 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body 13 join in honoring the life and memory of Gene Ferguson and express their deepest and most14 sincere regret at his passing.15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed16 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Gene17 Ferguson.18 S.
