9 | 9 | | with the passing of Norma Haynes on March 10, 2025; and3 |

10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Norma Haynes made history in 1980 as Coweta County's first female bailiff,4 |

11 | 11 | | breaking barriers for women in law enforcement, and she founded the Newnan Coweta5 |
---|
12 | 12 | | Public Safety Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provided resources and recognition6 |
---|
13 | 13 | | for first responders throughout the county; and7 |

14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, among her most well-known contributions was the establishment of the annual8 |

15 | 15 | | Public Safety Appreciation Lunch, which grew into a cherished community tradition9 |

16 | 16 | | honoring the service and sacrifice of local emergency personnel; and10 |

17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of Newnan, she played a central role in numerous civic11 |

26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, affectionately known as the "Mother of Public Safety" in Coweta County,17 |

27 | 27 | | Norma Haynes was considered family by the Coweta County Sheriff's Office and was dearly18 |

28 | 28 | | beloved by the community she served so faithfully; and19 |

29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern20 |

30 | 30 | | for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to21 |

31 | 31 | | her family and friends were admired by others; and22 |

32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation23 |

33 | 33 | | for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,24 |
