25 LC 112 3548 Senate Resolution 510 By: Senator James of the 28th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce; and for 1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce (PAAC) serves as a unifying3 platform for leading independent business associations from major global economies,4 advocating on behalf of millions of small, medium, and large companies across the United5 States, Africa, and the Caribbean; and6 WHEREAS, the chamber equips its members with valuable market intelligence and analysis7 on business conditions throughout Africa, America, and the broader Diaspora, identifying8 key economic development stakeholders and emerging opportunities; and9 WHEREAS, the PAAC encourages the development of trustworthy one-on-one relationships10 among corporations and associations, supporting collaboration grounded in the principles of11 the free market economy, fair trade and investment, and adherence to the rule of law; and12 WHEREAS, the chamber advances its mission through member-led workgroups, business13 conferences, institutional communications, and other programs that facilitate direct14 engagement with policymakers and promote the exchange of expertise; and15 S. R. 510 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3548 WHEREAS, the PAAC is governed by a seven-member Trustee Board and coordinated by 16 a Chairman/President and CEO, who is selected from a member corporation and serves a17 renewable two-year term; and18 WHEREAS, the PAAC welcomes new members who are committed to the chamber's core19 values of fairness, respect, responsibility, and honesty as well as to the advancement of the20 African and American economic agenda; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable organization be22 appropriately honored during this special time.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24 recognize and commend the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce for its dedication25 to global economic collaboration and the empowerment of business communities as well as26 extend best wishes for future success.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed28 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Pan African29 American Chamber of Commerce.30 S.
