10	9		BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that, except as3
11	10		otherwise provided by this resolution or by subsequent resolution of the General Assembly,4
12	11		meetings of the 2025 regular session of the General Assembly during the period of Monday,5
13	12		January 13, 2025, through Friday, April 4, 2025, shall be held in accordance with the6
14	13		following schedule:7

66	65		BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the meetings of the General Assembly shall be held as55
67	66		prescribed in Code Section 28-1-2 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, except as56
68	67		otherwise provided by this resolution. The hours for convening and adjourning the House57
69	68		of Representatives for each legislative day may be as ordered by the House; and the hours58
70	69		for convening and adjourning the Senate for each legislative day may be as ordered by the59
71	70		Senate. Each house, upon its own adjournment for a legislative day, shall remain in a period60
72	71		of adjournment until it convenes for the next legislative day.61

74	73		BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that whenever, due to an emergency or disaster resulting63
75	74		from manmade or natural causes or enemy attack, it becomes imprudent, inexpedient, or64
76	75		impossible to conduct the affairs of the General Assembly at the State Capitol in Atlanta,65
77	76		Fulton County, and the Governor has by proclamation declared an emergency temporary66

80	79		location or locations for the seat of government in accordance with Code Section 38-3-52,

82	81		the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate may, by joint68
83	82		agreement, order the discontinuation of the schedule for meetings provided by this resolution69
84	83		and provide for reconvening the House and the Senate at such temporary location or70
85	84		locations in accordance with Code Sections 38-3-52 and 38-3-53 on such date and at such71
86	85		time as they deem practical.72
87	86		BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that whenever, due to an emergency or disaster resulting73
88	87		from manmade or natural causes or enemy attack, it becomes imprudent, inexpedient, or74
89	88		impossible to conduct the affairs of the General Assembly at the State Capitol in Atlanta,75
90	89		Fulton County, but the Governor has not by proclamation declared an emergency temporary76
91	90		location or locations for the seat of government in accordance with the above, the Speaker77
92	91		of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate may, by joint agreement,78
93	92		order the discontinuation of the schedule for meetings provided by this resolution and79
94	93		provide for reconvening the House and the Senate at the State Capitol in Atlanta, Fulton80
95	94		County, on such date and at such time as they deem practical.81
96	95		BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in any case of emergency or disaster resulting in the82
97	96		discontinuation of the schedule for meetings as authorized by this resolution, the Speaker of83
98	97		the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate shall provide for prompt notice84
99	98		of the same to all members of the House of Representatives and all members of the Senate,85
100	99		respectively, by such means as such officers deem practical and efficient; and each house86
101	100		shall be and remain in adjournment until convening for the next legislative day on the date87
102	101		certain jointly specified by such officers. Following such reconvening, the General88
103	102		Assembly may provide by joint resolution for a new schedule for meetings and89
104	103		adjournments.90

107	106		BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, as to any case of emergency or disaster resulting in the

109	108		discontinuation of the schedule for meetings as authorized by this resolution, the adoption92
110	109		of this resolution by the General Assembly shall constitute the consent of both the House of93
111	110		Representatives and the Senate for purposes of Article III, Section IV, Paragraph I(b) of the94
112	111		Constitution.95
