109 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that, except as3
1110 otherwise provided by this resolution or by subsequent resolution of the General Assembly,4
1211 meetings of the 2025 regular session of the General Assembly during the period of Monday,5
1312 January 13, 2025, through Friday, April 4, 2025, shall be held in accordance with the6

6665 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the meetings of the General Assembly shall be held as55
6766 prescribed in Code Section 28-1-2 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, except as56
6867 otherwise provided by this resolution. The hours for convening and adjourning the House57
6968 of Representatives for each legislative day may be as ordered by the House; and the hours58
7069 for convening and adjourning the Senate for each legislative day may be as ordered by the59
7170 Senate. Each house, upon its own adjournment for a legislative day, shall remain in a period60
7271 of adjournment until it convenes for the next legislative day.61

7473 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that whenever, due to an emergency or disaster resulting63
7574 from manmade or natural causes or enemy attack, it becomes imprudent, inexpedient, or64
7675 impossible to conduct the affairs of the General Assembly at the State Capitol in Atlanta,65
7776 Fulton County, and the Governor has by proclamation declared an emergency temporary66

8079 location or locations for the seat of government in accordance with Code Section 38-3-52,

8281 the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate may, by joint68
8382 agreement, order the discontinuation of the schedule for meetings provided by this resolution69
8483 and provide for reconvening the House and the Senate at such temporary location or70
8584 locations in accordance with Code Sections 38-3-52 and 38-3-53 on such date and at such71
8685 time as they deem practical.72
8786 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that whenever, due to an emergency or disaster resulting73
8887 from manmade or natural causes or enemy attack, it becomes imprudent, inexpedient, or74
8988 impossible to conduct the affairs of the General Assembly at the State Capitol in Atlanta,75
9089 Fulton County, but the Governor has not by proclamation declared an emergency temporary76
9190 location or locations for the seat of government in accordance with the above, the Speaker77
9291 of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate may, by joint agreement,78
9392 order the discontinuation of the schedule for meetings provided by this resolution and79
9493 provide for reconvening the House and the Senate at the State Capitol in Atlanta, Fulton80
9594 County, on such date and at such time as they deem practical.81
9695 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in any case of emergency or disaster resulting in the82
9796 discontinuation of the schedule for meetings as authorized by this resolution, the Speaker of83
9897 the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate shall provide for prompt notice84
9998 of the same to all members of the House of Representatives and all members of the Senate,85
10099 respectively, by such means as such officers deem practical and efficient; and each house86
101100 shall be and remain in adjournment until convening for the next legislative day on the date87
102101 certain jointly specified by such officers. Following such reconvening, the General88
103102 Assembly may provide by joint resolution for a new schedule for meetings and89
104103 adjournments.90

107106 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, as to any case of emergency or disaster resulting in the

109108 discontinuation of the schedule for meetings as authorized by this resolution, the adoption92
110109 of this resolution by the General Assembly shall constitute the consent of both the House of93
111110 Representatives and the Senate for purposes of Article III, Section IV, Paragraph I(b) of the94
112111 Constitution.95
