25 LC 129 0033 Senate Resolution 60 By: Senators Albers of the 56th, Beach of the 21st, Robertson of the 29th, Williams of the 25th, Hatchett of the 50th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing March 6, 2025, as Police Chiefs and Heads of Law Enforcement Agencies 1 Recognition Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in the State of Georgia, there are more than 700 police chiefs and heads of law3 enforcement agencies who provide the critical service of managing approximately 45,0004 sworn peace officers; and5 WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police is an organization of honorable men6 and women dedicated to the preservation of the lives and property of Georgia citizens in a7 professional and ethical manner; and8 WHEREAS, these brave law enforcement leaders provide public service above and beyond9 the call of duty, often at great personal risk and tremendous sacrifice of not only themselves10 but also their families; and11 WHEREAS, from the time of their initial police chief's training provided by the Georgia12 Association of Chiefs of Police and throughout their careers, each member has demonstrated13 continuous loyalty to the call to serve and has combined and increased their public safety14 effectiveness through cooperation with state, county, and local governmental officials; and15 S. R. 60 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0033 WHEREAS, police chiefs and heads of law enforcement agencies of Georgia support the 16 continuous elevation of standards and training of law enforcement managers and have been17 instrumental in increasing the public's awareness of methods for avoiding being victims of18 crime; and19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the police chiefs and heads of law20 enforcement agencies of Georgia be recognized for their many personal sacrifices as well as21 their outstanding and courageous contributions to the citizens of this state.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23 recognize March 6, 2025, as Police Chiefs and Heads of Law Enforcement Agencies Day at24 the state capitol and commend each police chief and head of a law enforcement agency in25 this state for his or her outstanding commitment to the people of this state.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Scott Gray,28 President of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, and A.
