8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 |

9 | 9 | | with the passing of Allison Adassa Foderingham on January 10, 2025; and3 |

10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Allison Adassa Foderingham was born on March 1, 1925, in James Hill,4 |
---|
11 | 11 | | Clarendon, Jamaica, a beloved daughter of Alfred and Louise Richards; and5 |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, she attended James Hill Primary School, became part of the first graduating6 |
---|
13 | 13 | | class of Clarendon College in Jamaica, and later earned a master's degree in education with7 |
---|
14 | 14 | | a certificate in guidance and counseling from Western Carolina University in 1977; and8 |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, she dedicated 51 years of superlative service to her exemplary teaching career,9 |
---|
16 | 16 | | which culminated in her final role as the director of the G.E.D./H.S. Program at The Fulton10 |
---|
17 | 17 | | Atlanta Community Action Authority in Atlanta, Georgia; and11 |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, she was an active member of The Episcopal12 |

19 | 19 | | Church of the Holy Cross, where she was a dedicated member of several groups including13 |
---|
20 | 20 | | the Episcopal Church Women and Daughters of the King; and14 |

26 | 26 | | grandchildren, Camille, Monique, Jheanelle, Jacqui, Jordan, and Janayah; and two17 |

27 | 27 | | outstanding great-grandchildren, Dylan and Elijah; and18 |

28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern19 |

29 | 29 | | for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to20 |

31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation22 |

32 | 32 | | for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,23 |
