| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, arts and culture improve the overall quality of life in Georgia's communities;4 |

| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Georgians recognize the arts and culture industry as an important pillar and a6 |

| 13 | 13 | | source of pride in their neighborhoods and communities; and7 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, towns, cities, and counties, through their local and state arts agencies and8 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | councils representing thousands of arts and cultural organizations, celebrate the value and9 |

| 16 | 16 | | importance of arts and culture in the lives of Georgians and the health of thriving10 |

| 17 | 17 | | communities during Georgia Arts Day; and11 |

| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, through organizational spending and the resulting economic impact, the arts and12 |

| 19 | 19 | | culture industry generated $1.3 billion in 2022, supporting 19,734 Georgia jobs; and13 |

| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, an overwhelming number of visitors to Georgia report that their reason for |

|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, the arts and culture industry serves as a catalyst for generating economic17 |

| 27 | 27 | | impact, stimulating business development, spurring urban renewal, attracting tourists and18 |

| 28 | 28 | | area residents to community activities, and improving the overall quality of life in Georgia's19 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | cities.20 |

| 30 | 30 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 |

| 31 | 31 | | recognize February 2, 2025, as Georgia Arts Day in Georgia and encourage communities22 |
