4343 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

4747 SECTION 1. Section 329-101, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows: "(d) Under the system: (1) Information on the filling of prescriptions for designated controlled substances and the dispensing of drug samples by a licensed practitioner shall be reported in numerical format[,] in real time, provided that if no controlled substances are filled, then a report of "zero" shall be reported not less than once every seven days[, on the filling of prescriptions for designated controlled substances and the dispensing of drug samples by a licensed practitioner]; and (2) Each dispenser shall maintain a record of such filled prescriptions, including all information described in subsection (c), for a period of five years. Each dispenser shall keep these records available for inspection and copying by the designated state agency." SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.
