4747 SECTION 1. The legislature finds that data reporting during the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic generates public awareness on pandemic-related information and trends. Given the rapidly evolving situation created by the pandemic, the importance of clear, complete data reporting has been brought to the forefront. In particular, improved data reporting on infection rates classified by age and vaccination status can better inform decision-making. The purpose of this Act is to improve data reporting regarding COVID-19 by requiring the department of health to track and report COVID-19 infections including age and vaccination status data points. SECTION 2. (a) The department of health shall track and report data on COVID-19 infections in Hawaii for public use. The data shall include: (1) Age; and (2) Vaccination status. (b) The department of health shall focus education and outreach strategies to prioritize age-based risk factors. (c) Beginning July 1, 2022, the data report shall be published weekly on the department of health's website. SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
