43- WHEREAS, there are state offices operating in various locations in west Hawaii; and WHEREAS, state offices whose operations are not dependent on location can be moved into one convenient area and consolidated at a single location for purposes of cost effectiveness, efficiency, and convenience; and WHEREAS, the consolidation of state services in a single central location can improve public access to those services; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Thirty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2022, the House of Representatives concurring, that the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism and Department of Accounting and General Services are requested to conduct a cost analysis study regarding consolidating the state offices in west Hawaii into one complex; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism and Department of Accounting and General Services are requested to submit a report of their findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2023; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Governor; Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism; and Comptroller of Accounting and General Services.
