4343 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

47- SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2023-2024 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2024-2025 to fund four full-time equivalent (4.0 FTE) unemployment insurance specialist V positions, eight full-time equivalent (8.0 FTE) unemployment insurance specialist IV positions, and three full-time equivalent (3.0 FTE) unemployment insurance assistant V positions within the department of labor and industrial relations to prepare and support the unemployment insurance modernization project. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of labor and industrial relations for the purposes of this Act. SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2023-2024 for the purpose of upgrading and modernizing the unemployment insurance system within the department of labor and industrial relations. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of labor and industrial relations for the purposes of this Act. SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on June 30, 3000.
