37	37	relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Thirty-third REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

43	43	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

47	47	SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $23,500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2023-2024 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the thirty-third representative district, as follows: 1. Aiea high school Design and construction for a new state of the art culinary program, new multipurpose room, and renovation of building C and changing culinary rooms to classrooms; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances. Design $5,000,000 Construction $6,000,000 Equipment $1,000,000 Total funding $12,000,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 2. Aiea high school Design and construction to replace cafeteria dining room windows and provide improvements for cooling or heat abatement measures; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances. Design $200,000 Construction $250,000 Equipment $50,000 Total funding $500,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 3. Aiea intermediate school Design and construction for an outdoor gathering area, including stage and seating and necessary infrastructure; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances. Design $1,450,000 Construction $1,500,000 Equipment $50,000 Total funding $3,000,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 4. Pearl Ridge elementary school Design and construction for improvements to school buildings and facilities; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances. Design $450,000 Construction $500,000 Equipment $50,000 Total funding $1,000,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 5. Webling elementary school Design and construction for the expansion of the administration and library buildings and covered walkways to classroom buildings; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances. Design $3,450,000 Construction $3,500,000 Equipment $50,000 Total funding $7,000,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date.
