43	43	WHEREAS, high school athletic programs enhance student engagement, improve health and academics, and allow students to benefit from positive mentorship, creativity in problem solving, teamwork, and many other skills that help them become responsible adults, productive citizens, and skilled professionals; and WHEREAS, as with any athletic team, coaching runs deeper than wins and losses and it is with great dedication that coaches inspire, guide, and nurture young athletes into champions who learn the value of persistence, personal growth, and teamwork; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School finished an outstanding season with countless stories of triumph out of the seventeen OIA and state teams, which includes nearly three hundred student athletes, making Mililani High School the League and State Champions; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Varsity Baseball team won the 2022 OIA Championship; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country teams won their respective 2022 OIA Cross County Championships; and WHEREAS, Mililani High School took first in the 2022 OIA Judo individual championship; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer teams won their respective 2022-2023 OIA Soccer Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Boys and Girls Junior Varsity Soccer teams won their respective 2022-2023 OIA Junior Varsity Soccer Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Junior Varsity Softball team won the 2022-2023 OIA Junior Varsity Softball Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Girls Varsity Soft Tennis team won the 2022 OIA Girls Varsity Soft Tennis Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Boys Swim and Dive team won the 2023 OIA Relay, Swimming and Diving Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Girls Swim and Dive team won the 2023 OIA Relay, Swimming and Diving Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Boys Varsity Tennis team won the 2022 OIA Boys Varsity Tennis Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Girls Varsity Tennis team won the 2022 OIA Girls Varsity Tennis Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Boys Varsity Track and Field team won the 2022 OIA Boys Varsity Track Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Girls Varsity Track and Field team won the 2022 OIA Girls Varsity Track Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Boys Junior Varsity Volleyball team won the 2022 OIA Boys Junior Varsity Volleyball Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball team won the 2022 OIA Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball Championships; and WHEREAS, the Mililani High School Wrestling Team won the 2023 OIA Wrestling and State Championships; and WHEREAS, members of all Mililani High School teams demonstrated outstanding team work and dedication and have learned the value of teamwork in reaching a goal, reflecting the exceptional dedication, perseverance, fellowship, good sportsmanship, superb athletic ability, and the spirit of keen competitiveness of all teams; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2023, that this body hereby congratulates the superb athletic performance of the Mililani High School, and extends to all of them its special aloha and best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
