Section 226-11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows: "(b) To achieve the land-based, shoreline, and marine resources objectives, it shall be the policy of this State to: (1) Exercise an overall conservation ethic in the use of Hawaii's natural resources. (2) Ensure compatibility between land-based and water | |

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2022-2023 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the development of a statewide beach assessment study and a beach and shoreline restoration and conservation plan. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the office of planning and sustainable development for the purposes of this Act. SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored. SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050. | |
