THE SENATE S.B. NO. 418 THIRTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE, 2023 STATE OF HAWAII A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to hydrogen energy. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII: THE SENATE S.B. NO. 418 THIRTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE, 2023 STATE OF HAWAII THE SENATE S.B. NO. 418 THIRTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE, 2023 STATE OF HAWAII A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to hydrogen energy. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. (a) There is established within the department of business, economic development, and tourism, a Hawaii hydrogen energy industry program which shall develop a pathway toward the implementation of the State's renewable energy industry in hydrogen. The Hawaii hydrogen energy industry program shall design, implement, and administer activities to further the State's energy independence, with a focus on: (1) The harvesting, storage, and use of hydrogen as a renewable energy source; and (2) Utility-scale renewable energy projects. (b) The department of business, economic development, and tourism shall accomplish the objectives of the Hawaii hydrogen energy program established in subsection (a) by providing tax credits, land, availability, and infrastructure support.
