4343 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

4747 SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $23,471,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twenty-fifth representative district, as follows: 1. Keelikōlani middle school Design and construction for paving of parking lots. Design $50,000 Construction $500,000 Total funding $550,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 2. McKinley high school Design and construction for the renovation of science classrooms MS2 and MS9 in building M. Design $1,000 Construction $2,500,000 Total funding $2,501,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 3. McKinley high school Design and construction for the renovation of science classrooms MS3 and MS11 in building M. Design $500,000 Construction $2,000,000 Total funding $2,500,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 4. McKinley high school Design and construction for athletic complex improvements, including bleachers, locker rooms, stadium, general field lighting, and other physical education and athletic facilities; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances. Design $100,000 Construction $17,820,000 Total funding $17,920,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date.
