4343 WHEREAS, the Global Federation of Chinese Business Women (GFCBW) was founded in 1994 as a not-for-profit organization, with its membership encompassing the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce; and WHEREAS, the GFCBW has established itself as a strong multi-national business, with a prominent global presence spread across eighty-six chapters worldwide that are in coalition with more than 11,600 Taiwanese business members who have collectively created over 170,000 jobs in their local communities; and WHEREAS, in 1996, the Hawaii Chapter of GFCBW was founded and has enjoyed tremendous support from local members who uplift their local communities by engaging in vital charitable initiatives, including but not limited to: (1) Donations to the Maui Strong Fund; (2) Relief volunteers to Maui; (3) Mask donations; (4) Volunteering at the Palolo Chinese Home; and (5) Volunteering at Kuakini Medical Center; and WHEREAS, the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America (TCCNA) was founded in 1988 as a not-for-profit organization and has expanded to one hundred fifteen major metropolitan areas across North America; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Chapter of TCCNA has actively contributed to the community through initiatives such as: (1) Food and medical drives at homeless shelters; (2) Donating 100,000 masks and sanitizers; and (3) Donating $150,000 to the Maui Strong Fund; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2024, that this body hereby honors the Global Federation of Chinese Business Women Hawaii Chapter and the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America Hawaii Chapter for their outstanding commitment to philanthropy, community service, and global cooperation and extends to them its warmest aloha and best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
