4343 WHEREAS, individuals using the public bus systems in the City and County of Honolulu often experience variable wait times while waiting for their bus; and WHEREAS, while waiting, these individuals can experience multiple types of weather, from bright sunshine to heavy rain; and WHEREAS, these changes in weather often come with little to no warning; and WHEREAS, covered bus shelters will protect bus riders from unexpected rain showers and provide shade during hot summer months; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2024, that the City and County of Honolulu and Department of Transportation are requested to provide covered bus shelters at all bus stops on the island of Oahu; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Director of Transportation, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, Director of the Department of Transportation Services of the City and County of Honolulu, and all members of the Honolulu City Council.
