NO. 2134 THIRTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE, 2024 STATE OF HAWAII A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the sixteenth senatorial district. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $134,830,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the sixteenth senatorial district, as follows: 1. Aiea Intermediate School. A. Plans, design and construction for a work and play area to support physical education classes and recess periods. Total funding $1,000,000 B. Plans, design, and construction for a solar covering of the lower parking lot. Total funding $2,300,000 2. Momilani Elementary School. A. Plans, design, and construction to complete the "Hall of HONOR" multi-story building; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances. Plans and design $2,500,000 Construction $40,000,000 Equipment $2,000,000 Total funding $44,500,000 B. Plans, design, and construction for administrative building expansion; renovation and improvements; ground and site improvements. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date. SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended for the purpose of this Act by the department of education. SECTION 4.
