4343 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

4747 SECTION 1. (a) The department of accounting and general services shall conduct a study on the overall energy consumption by facilities managed, leased, or otherwise maintained by the department, and associated costs. The study shall include but not be limited to: (1) Assessment of current future energy needs; (2) Identification of short- and long-term energy costs; and (3) Recommendations on measures that can be implemented to lower the costs, for the purpose of making the department facilities more energy efficient. (b) The department of accounting and general services shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2025. SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. INTRODUCED BY: _____________________________
