A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to traffic control devices.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 291C, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows: "§291C- Traffic control devices; speed limit signs; kilometers per hour; miles per hour. Beginning July 1, 2023, all speed limit signs newly installed or replaced by the department of transportation shall include the kilometers per hour in a distinct design, display, and color from the miles per hour shown." SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored. SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2023. INTRODUCED BY: _____________________________
