A galvanized service line is 4 considered a lead service line if the line ever was or is 5 currently downstream of any lead service line or service line 6 of unknown material. For the purposes of this subsection, 7 downstream means the section of the service line between a 8 lead service line and the water meter. 9 NEW SUBSECTION . 4A. Service line means the pipe 10 connecting the water main to the interior plumbing in a 11 building. For the purposes of this subsection, service line 12 includes the pipe from the water main to the water meter, not 13 including interior plumbing. 14 Sec. 2. Section 558A.4, subsection 1, paragraph a, Code 15 2025, is amended to read as follows: 16 a. The disclosure statement shall include information 17 relating to the condition and important characteristics of the 18 property and structures located on the property, including 19 significant defects in the structural integrity of the 20 structure and the presence of lead service lines , as provided 21 in rules which shall be adopted by the real estate commission 22 pursuant to section 543B.9 . The rules may require the 23 disclosure to include information relating to the propertys 24 zoning classification; the condition of plumbing, heating, or 25 electrical systems; or the presence of pests. 26 Sec. 3.
