S.F. 208 Section 1. Section 216.2, subsection 17, Code 2025, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 17. Sexual orientation means actual or perceived 3 heterosexuality, homosexuality, or bisexuality. Sexual 4 orientation does not include pedophilia or an adults sexual 5 attraction to minors. 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanations substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 Code chapter 216 (civil rights) prohibits discrimination in 10 employment, wages, public accommodations, housing, education, 11 and credit practices based upon certain characteristics of a 12 person, including sexual orientation, and provides remedies for 13 such violations. Code chapter 216 defines sexual orientation 14 as the actual or perceived heterosexuality, homosexuality, 15 or bisexuality of a person.
