| 3 | 3 | S.F. 97 Section 1. Section 331.441, subsection 2, paragraph c, Code 1 2025, is amended by adding the following new subparagraph: 2 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (11) Acquisition of vehicles or vehicle 3 equipment for a county sheriff, county attorney, county jail 4 facility, county maintenance department, county conservation 5 department, or county public health department. 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanations substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 This bill amends the definition of general county purpose 10 to include the acquisition of vehicles or vehicle equipment 11 for a county sheriff, county attorney, county jail facility, 12 county maintenance department, county conservation department, 13 or county public health department. 14 Under Code chapter 331, a county board of supervisors 15 generally must receive the approval of voters at an election 16 in order to contract indebtedness and issue general obligation 17 bonds to carry out a general county purpose. 18 -1- LSB 1285XS (1) 91 ll/js 1/ 1 |
