11	11	1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
15	15	5 changing Section 10-3.2 as follows:
16	16	6 (305 ILCS 5/10-3.2) (from Ch. 23, par. 10-3.2)
17	17	7 Sec. 10-3.2. Parent Locator Service. The The Illinois
18	18	8 Department through its Child and Spouse Support Unit shall
19	19	9 enter into agreements with the Secretary of Health and Human
20	20	10 Services or his designee under which the services of the
21	21	11 federal Parent Locator Service established by the Social
22	22	12 Security Act are made available to this State and the Illinois
23	23	13 Department for the purpose of locating an absent parent or
24	24	14 child when the child has been abducted or otherwise improperly
25	25	15 removed or retained from the physical custody of a parent or
26	26	16 other person entitled to custody of the child, or in
27	27	17 connection with the making or enforcing of a child custody
28	28	18 determination in custody proceedings instituted under the
29	29	19 Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act or the Uniform
30	30	20 Child-Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act, or otherwise
31	31	21 in accordance with law. The Illinois Department shall provide
32	32	22 general information to the public about the availability and
33	33	23 use of the Parent Locator Service in relation to child

68	68	1 abduction and custody determination proceedings, shall
69	69	2 promptly respond to inquiries made by those parties specified
70	70	3 by federal regulations upon receipt of information as to the
71	71	4 location of an absent parent or child from the federal Parent
72	72	5 Locator Service and shall maintain accurate records as to the
73	73	6 number of such inquiries received and processed by the
74	74	7 Department.
