3	11		1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
4	12		2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
5	13		3 represented in the General Assembly:
6		-	4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
7		-	5 Section 11-306.1 as follows:
8		-	6 (625 ILCS 5/11-306.1 new)
9		-	7 Sec. 11-306.1. Specialized traffic control devices. A
10		-	8 municipality or unit of local government may erect and
11		-	9 maintain a specialized traffic control device at an
12		-	10 intersection where an emergency response vehicle enters the
13		-	11 roadway or within 1,000 feet from a structure where such
14		-	12 vehicles are stored. The specialized traffic control device
15		-	13 may be controlled by the emergency response unit or fire
16		-	14 station as the emergency response vehicle enters or exits
17		-	15 traffic.
	14	+	4 Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by
	15	+	5 changing Section 1-101 as follows:

	17	+	7 Sec. 1-101. This Act shall be known and and may be cited as
