11	11	1 AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
15	15	5 changing Section 4-101 as follows:
16	16	6 (40 ILCS 5/4-101) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 4-101)
17	17	7 Sec. 4-101. Creation of fund. In each municipality as
18	18	8 defined in Section 4-103, the the city council or the board of
19	19	9 trustees, as the case may be, shall establish and administer a
20	20	10 firefighters' pension fund as prescribed in this Article, for
21	21	11 the benefit of its firefighters and of their surviving
22	22	12 spouses, children and certain other dependents. The duty of
23	23	13 the corporate authorities of a municipality to establish and
24	24	14 administer a firefighters' pension fund shall be suspended
25	25	15 during any period during which the fund is dissolved under
26	26	16 subsection (c) of Section 4-106.1 of this Code.
