1111 1 AN ACT concerning business.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Armed
1515 5 Security Protection Act.
1616 6 Section 5. Definitions. In this Act:
1717 7 "Armed private security guard" or "guard" has the meaning
1818 8 ascribed to the term "armed employee" under the Private
1919 9 Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint
2020 10 Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004.
2121 11 "Bank" has the meaning ascribed to that term in the
2222 12 Illinois Banking Act.
2323 13 "Gas station" means a business subject to the Motor Fuel
2424 14 Sales Act.
2525 15 "Grocery store" means a business engaged in the sale of
2626 16 food, beverages, and other goods usually used in a home.
2727 17 "Pawn shop" means a business subject to the Pawnbroker
2828 18 Regulation Act.
2929 19 Section 10. Guards required in municipalities having in
3030 20 excess of 2,000,000 inhabitants. Beginning July 1, 2024, a
3131 21 bank, gas station, grocery store, and pawn shop shall employ
3232 22 and have on its premises at least one guard during the hours it
