Short title. This Act may be cited as the Local 5 Government Business Anti-Poaching Act. 6 Section 5. Definition. As used in this Act, "incentive" 7 means any economic benefit, financial benefit, or other 8 benefit, such as those authorized under the Economic 9 Development for a Growing Economy Tax Credit Act, the Property 10 Tax Code, the Counties Code, the Illinois Municipal Code 11 (including the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act), or 12 any other provision of law authorizing abatements, credits, or 13 tax or fee reductions. 14 Section 10. Illinois business poaching prohibited. 15 Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no municipality or 16 county shall offer after the effective date of this Act any 17 incentive to a business or corporation to move its 18 headquarters located in Illinois, or any part of its business 19 located in Illinois, away from the current location. 20 Section 15.
