1111 1 AN ACT concerning business.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business
1515 5 Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2BBBB as follows:
1616 6 (815 ILCS 505/2BBBB new)
1717 7 Sec. 2BBBB. Use of credit cards when providing health care
1818 8 services.
1919 9 (a) As used in this Section:
2020 10 "Health care professional" means a physician, registered
2121 11 professional nurse, or other individual appropriately licensed
2222 12 or registered to provide health care services.
2323 13 "Health care provider" means any physician, hospital
2424 14 facility, facility licensed under the Home Nursing Care Act,
2525 15 long-term care facility as defined in Section 1-113 of the
2626 16 Nursing Home Care Act, or other person that is appropriately
2727 17 licensed or registered to provide health care services.
2828 18 "Health care provider" does not include independent practice
2929 19 associations or physician-hospital organizations.
3030 20 "Patient" means the individual who is receiving health
3131 21 care services from the health care professional or health care
3232 22 provider and any individual who is the guarantor of the
3333 23 payment for such services.
