1111 1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
1515 5 changing Section 4-102 as follows:
1616 6 (625 ILCS 5/4-102) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 4-102)
1717 7 Sec. 4-102. Offenses relating to motor vehicles and other
1818 8 vehicles - Misdemeanors.
1919 9 (a) It is a violation of this Chapter for:
2020 10 (1) A person, with intent and without the right to do
2121 11 so without authority to do so, to damage a vehicle or to
2222 12 damage or remove any part of a vehicle;
2323 13 (2) A person, without the right to do so and with the
2424 14 intent to commit a crime without authority to do so, to
2525 15 tamper with a vehicle or go in it, on it, or work or
2626 16 attempt to work any of its parts, or set or attempt to set
2727 17 it in motion;
2828 18 (3) A person to fail to report a vehicle as unclaimed
2929 19 in accordance with the provisions of Section 4-107.
3030 20 (b) Sentence. A person convicted of a violation of this
3131 21 Section shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. A person
3232 22 convicted of a violation of this Section a second or
3333 23 subsequent time, shall be guilty of a Class 4 felony.
