1111 1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
1515 5 adding Section 12-4.13e as follows:
1616 6 (305 ILCS 5/12-4.13e new)
1717 7 Sec. 12-4.13e. Foster care families; SNAP eligibility.
1818 8 Subject to federal approval if required, all foster families
1919 9 shall automatically qualify for Supplemental Nutrition
2020 10 Assistance Program benefits regardless of income. The
2121 11 Department of Human Services shall apply for any federal
2222 12 waivers or approvals necessary to implement this Section.
2323 13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2424 14 becoming law.
