Property. The Director of Corrections, on 5 behalf of the State of Illinois, is authorized to execute and 6 deliver to the City of Crest Hill, for and in consideration of 7 $1 paid to the Department of Corrections, a quit claim deed to 8 the following described real property: 9 That part of the East half of the Northeast quarter of 10 Section thirty two (32), lying North of the right of the 11 way of the Joliet, Aurora and Northern Railway Company, 12 now the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway Company, 13 excepting therefrom a strip of land twenty four (24) feet 14 in width off the West side thereof, containing in said 15 tract hereby conveyed twenty five (25) acres, more or 16 less. 17 Section 10. Conveyance. 18 (a) Upon the payment of the sum of $1 to the Department of 19 Corrections, and subject to the conditions set forth in 20 subsection (b), the Director of Corrections, on behalf of the 21 State of Illinois and the Department of Corrections, shall 22 convey by quit claim deed all right, title, and interest of the HB2097 Enrolled LRB103 29525 LNS 55920 b HB2097 Enrolled- 2 -LRB103 29525 LNS 55920 b HB2097 Enrolled - 2 - LRB103 29525 LNS 55920 b HB2097 Enrolled - 2 - LRB103 29525 LNS 55920 b 1 State of Illinois and the Department of Corrections in and to 2 the real property described in Section 5 to the City of Crest 3 Hill. 4 (b) The conveyance of real property authorized by Section 5 5 shall be made subject to existing public utilities, existing 6 public roads, and any and all reservations, easements, 7 encumbrances, covenants, and restrictions of record. 8 (c) The quit claim deed to the City of Crest Hill shall 9 state on its face and be subject to the conditions that the 10 real property shall be used by the City of Crest Hill for a 11 Lake Michigan water receiving station and other public 12 purposes, and that if the real property is used for any other 13 purposes, or if an attempt is made to sell the property, then 14 title shall revert without further action to the State of 15 Illinois. 16 Section 15. Recording. The Director of Corrections shall 17 prepare one or more quit claim deeds to convey the real 18 property. The Director may also record a certified copy of 19 this Act. Each quit claim deed shall reference this Act and 20 contain the reversionary language from subsection (c) of 21 Section 10. All documents of conveyance shall be recorded in 22 the county in which the land is located. 23 Section 20. The conveyance of real property authorized by 4 Section 1-5 shall be made subject to: (1) existing public 5 utilities, existing public roads, and any and all 6 reservations, easements, encumbrances, covenants, and 7 restrictions of record; and (2) the express condition that if 8 the real property ceases to be used for public purposes, it 9 shall revert to the State of Illinois, Department of Natural 10 Resources Corrections. 11 (Source: P.A. 102-1015, eff. 5-27-22.) 12 Section 99.
