11	11	1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Pharmacy Practice Act is amended by
15	15	5 changing Section 8 as follows:

17	17	7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2028)
18	18	8 Sec. 8. Licensure by endorsement; emergency licensure. The
19	19	9 The Department may, in its discretion, license as a
20	20	10 pharmacist, without examination, on payment of the required
21	21	11 fee, an applicant who is so licensed under the laws of another
22	22	12 U.S. jurisdiction or another country, if the requirements for
23	23	13 licensure in the other jurisdiction in which the applicant was
24	24	14 licensed, were, at the date of his or her licensure deemed by
25	25	15 the Board to be substantially equivalent to the requirements
26	26	16 then in force in this State.
27	27	17 A person holding an active, unencumbered license in good
28	28	18 standing in another jurisdiction who applies for a license
29	29	19 pursuant to Section 7 of this Act due to a natural disaster or
30	30	20 catastrophic event in another jurisdiction may be temporarily
31	31	21 authorized by the Secretary to practice pharmacy pending the
32	32	22 issuance of the license. This temporary authorization shall
33	33	23 expire upon issuance of the license or upon notification that

69	69	2 Upon a declared Executive Order due to an emergency caused
70	70	3 by a natural or manmade disaster or any other exceptional
71	71	4 situation that causes an extraordinary demand for pharmacist
72	72	5 services, the Department may issue a pharmacist who holds a
73	73	6 license to practice pharmacy in another state an emergency
