1111 1 AN ACT concerning human rights.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Reproductive Health Act is amended by
1515 5 adding Section 1-23 as follows:

1717 7 Sec. 1-23. Abortion waiting period. No person shall
1818 8 perform or induce an abortion unless at least 72 hours prior
1919 9 thereto the health care professional who is to perform or
2020 10 induce the abortion has conferred with the patient and
2121 11 discussed with the patient the indicators, contraindicators,
2222 12 and risk factors, including any physical, psychological, or
2323 13 situational factors for the proposed procedure and the use of
2424 14 medications, in light of the patient's medical history and
