13	13	1 AN ACT concerning local government.
14	14	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
15	15	3 represented in the General Assembly:
16	16	4 Section 5. The Regional Transportation Authority Act is
17	17	5 amended by adding Section 3B.17 as follows:
18	18	6 (70 ILCS 3615/3B.17 new)
19	19	7 Sec. 3B.17. Reduced services; students. Notwithstanding
20	20	8 any law to the contrary, on and after January 1, 2024, any
21	21	9 fixed route public transportation services provided by, or
22	22	10 under grant or purchase of service contracts of, the Commuter
23	23	11 Rail Board shall be provided at a 50% discounted fare off the
24	24	12 non-discounted adult fare to all students who present a valid
25	25	13 student ID card issued within the previous 12 months by a
26	26	14 college or university, or under conditions prescribed by the
27	27	15 Commuter Rail Board.
