3	12		1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
4	13		2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
5	14		3 represented in the General Assembly:
6	15		4 Section 5. The Landscape Architecture Registration Act is
7	16		5 amended by changing Section 10 and by adding Section 53 as
8	17		6 follows:

10	19		8 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2027)
11	20		9 Sec. 10. Definitions. As used in this Act:
12	21		10 "Address of record" means the designated address recorded
13	22		11 by the Department in the applicant's application file or
14	23		12 registrant's registration file as maintained by the
15	24		13 Department.
16	25		14 "Board" means the Registered Landscape Architecture
17	26		15 Registration Board.
18	27		16 "Department" means the Department of Financial and
19	28		17 Professional Regulation.
20	29		18 "Email address of record" means the designated email
21	30		19 address of record by the Department in the applicant's
22	31		20 application file or registrant's registration file as
23	32		21 maintained by the Department.
24	33		22 "Landscape architecture" means the art and science of
25	34		23 arranging land, together with the spaces and objects upon it,

34	71		1 for the purpose of creating a safe, efficient, healthful, and
35	72		2 aesthetically pleasing physical environment for human use and
36	73		3 enjoyment, as performed by landscape architects.
37	74		4 "Landscape architectural practice" means the offering or
38	75		5 furnishing of professional services in connection with a
39	76		6 landscape architecture project that do not require the seal of
40	77		7 an architect, land surveyor, professional engineer, or
41	78		8 structural engineer. These services may include, but are not
42	79		9 limited to, providing preliminary studies; developing design
43	80		10 concepts; planning for the relationships of physical
44	81		11 improvements and intended uses of the site; establishing form
45	82		12 and aesthetic elements; developing those technical details on
46	83		13 the site that are exclusive of any building or structure;
47	84		14 preparing and coordinating technical submissions; and
48	85		15 conducting site observation of a landscape architecture
49	86		16 project.
50	87		17 "Registered landscape architect" means a person who, based
51	88		18 on education, experience, and examination in the field of
52	89		19 landscape architecture, is registered under this Act.
53	90		20 "Secretary" means the Secretary of Financial and
54	91		21 Professional Regulation. The Secretary may designate his or
55	92		22 her duties under this Act to a designee of his or her choice,
56	93		23 including, but not limited to, the Director of Professional
57	94		24 Regulation.

70	107		2 Sec. 53. Continuing education. The Department may adopt
