1111 1 AN ACT concerning State government.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic
1515 5 Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
1616 6 is amended by adding Section 605-1056 as follows:
1717 7 (20 ILCS 605/605-1056 new)
1818 8 Sec. 605-1056. Capacity building grants. Subject to
1919 9 appropriation, the Department of Commerce and Economic
2020 10 Opportunity, in consultation with the Department of Revenue,
2121 11 is authorized to create and award capacity building grants to
2222 12 municipalities whose equalized assessed value, total State
2323 13 sales tax disbursements, or both combined, subject to
2424 14 inflation, decreased at least 30% over the 10 years preceding
2525 15 the issuance of the grant. The Department shall adopt rules to
2626 16 implement and administer the requirements of this Section.
2727 17 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2828 18 becoming law.
