1111 1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Pawnbroker Regulation Act is amended by
1515 5 changing Section 11 as follows:
1616 6 (205 ILCS 510/11) (from Ch. 17, par. 4661)
1717 7 Sec. 11. Violations. Every person who knowingly violates
1818 8 the the provisions of this Act shall, for the first offense, be
1919 9 guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, and for each subsequent
2020 10 offense shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor, except that a
2121 11 person who knowingly violates this Act by operating a pawnshop
2222 12 without a license shall be guilty of a Class B misdemeanor for
2323 13 the first offense and shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor
2424 14 for any subsequent offense. This Act shall not be construed as
2525 15 to, in any wise, impair the power of cities or villages in this
2626 16 State to license, tax, regulate except as to fee amounts,
2727 17 suppress, and prohibit pawnbrokers as now provided by law.
