1111 1 AN ACT concerning government.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
1515 5 Freedom from COVID-19 Vaccination for State Employees Act.
1616 6 Section 5. Definitions. As used in this Act:
1717 7 "Appointee" means a person appointed to a position in or
1818 8 with a State agency, regardless of whether the position is
1919 9 compensated.
2020 10 "COVID-19 vaccination" means any vaccination that is
2121 11 intended to provide or improve acquired immunity from the
2222 12 Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)
2323 13 virus or any variant of that virus.
2424 14 "Employee" means (i) any person employed full-time,
2525 15 part-time, or under a contract and whose employment duties are
2626 16 subject to the direction and control of an employer with
2727 17 regard to the material details of how the work is to be
2828 18 performed, (ii) any appointed or elected commissioner,
2929 19 trustee, director, or board member of a board of a State
3030 20 agency, including any retirement system or investment board
3131 21 subject to the Illinois Pension Code, or (iii) any other
3232 22 appointee.
3333 23 "State agency" has the meaning ascribed to that term in
