14 | 14 | | 4 Section 5. The Pharmacy Practice Act is amended by |

18 | 18 | | 8 Sec. 10. State Board of Pharmacy. |
---|
19 | 19 | | 9 (a) There is created in the Department the the State Board |
---|
20 | 20 | | 10 of Pharmacy. It shall consist of 11 members, 8 of whom shall be |
---|
21 | 21 | | 11 licensed pharmacists. One of the licensed pharmacists shall |
---|
22 | 22 | | 12 have a primary site for the practice of pharmacy at an |
---|
23 | 23 | | 13 inpatient hospital pharmacy. Each of those 8 members must be a |
---|
24 | 24 | | 14 licensed pharmacist in good standing in this State, a graduate |
---|
25 | 25 | | 15 of an accredited college of pharmacy or hold a Bachelor of |
---|
26 | 26 | | 16 Science degree in Pharmacy and have at least 5 years' |
---|
27 | 27 | | 17 practical experience in the practice of pharmacy subsequent to |
---|
28 | 28 | | 18 the date of his licensure as a licensed pharmacist in the State |
---|
29 | 29 | | 19 of Illinois. There shall be one member who is a pharmacy |
---|
30 | 30 | | 20 technician. There shall be 2 public members, who shall be |
---|
31 | 31 | | 21 voting members, who shall not be engaged in any way, directly |
---|
32 | 32 | | 22 or indirectly, as providers of health care in this State or any |
---|

68 | 68 | | 1 (b) Each member shall be appointed by the Governor. |
---|
69 | 69 | | 2 (c) Members shall be appointed to 5 year terms. The |

70 | 70 | | 3 Governor shall fill any vacancy for the remainder of the |

71 | 71 | | 4 unexpired term. Partial terms over 3 years in length shall be |

72 | 72 | | 5 considered full terms. A member may be reappointed for a |

75 | 75 | | 8 (d) In making the appointment of members on the Board, the |

76 | 76 | | 9 Governor shall give due consideration to recommendations by |
---|
77 | 77 | | 10 the members of the profession of pharmacy and by pharmacy |
---|
78 | 78 | | 11 organizations therein. The Governor shall notify the pharmacy |
---|
79 | 79 | | 12 organizations promptly of any vacancy of members on the Board |
---|
80 | 80 | | 13 and in appointing members shall give consideration to |
---|
81 | 81 | | 14 individuals engaged in all types and settings of pharmacy |
---|
82 | 82 | | 15 practice. |
---|
83 | 83 | | 16 (e) The Governor may remove any member of the Board for |
---|
84 | 84 | | 17 misconduct, incapacity, or neglect of duty, and he or she |
---|
85 | 85 | | 18 shall be the sole judge of the sufficiency of the cause for |
---|
86 | 86 | | 19 removal. |
---|
87 | 87 | | 20 (f) Each member of the Board shall be reimbursed for such |
---|
88 | 88 | | 21 actual and legitimate expenses as he or she may incur in going |
---|
89 | 89 | | 22 to and from the place of meeting and remaining there during |
---|
90 | 90 | | 23 sessions of the Board. |
---|
91 | 91 | | 24 (g) The Board shall hold quarterly meetings at such times |
---|
92 | 92 | | 25 and places and upon notice as the Department may determine and |
---|
