| 21 | 21 | | 11 Beginning July 1, 2007, all gasoline-powered vehicles |

| 22 | 22 | | 12 purchased from State funds must be flexible fuel or fuel |

| 23 | 23 | | 13 efficient hybrid vehicles. For purposes of this Section, |

| 24 | 24 | | 14 "flexible fuel vehicles" are automobiles or light trucks that |

| 25 | 25 | | 15 operate on either gasoline or E-85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) |

| 26 | 26 | | 16 fuel, excluding authorized emergency vehicles, and "Fuel |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 17 efficient hybrid vehicles" are automobiles or light trucks |

| 28 | 28 | | 18 that use a gasoline or diesel engine and an electric motor to |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 19 provide power and gain at least a 20% increase in combined |

| 30 | 30 | | 20 US-EPA city-highway fuel economy over the equivalent or |

| 76 | 76 | | 9 gasohol (hybrids or plug-in hybrids), compressed natural gas, |
|---|
| 77 | 77 | | 10 liquid petroleum gas, or liquid natural gas, including |
|---|
| 78 | 78 | | 11 dedicated or non-dedicated fuel type vehicles. |

| 79 | 79 | | 12 (c) The Chief Procurement Officer may determine that |
|---|
| 80 | 80 | | 13 certain vehicle procurements are exempt from this Section |
|---|
| 81 | 81 | | 14 based on intended use or other reasonable considerations such |
|---|
| 82 | 82 | | 15 as health and safety of Illinois citizens. |
