11 103RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY State of Illinois 2023 and 2024 HB3618 Introduced , by Rep. Steven Reick SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: 325 ILCS 5/7.5a new Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act. Requires the Department of Children and Family Services to develop a plan to phase in mandatory intact family services for at-risk families who are in need of continuing assistance and monitoring following a child abuse or neglect investigation. Provides that under the plan, if after conducting a child abuse or neglect investigation the Department determines that the family of the child who is the subject of the report qualifies for intact family services, the Department shall open an intact family services case for the child and enroll the family in the Department's Intact Family Services Program where the child and family shall be assigned to an intact family services provider contracted with the Department. Provides that the Department may adopt any rules necessary to implement the phase-in plan for mandatory intact family services. 1111 1 AN ACT concerning children.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act is
1515 5 amended by adding Section 7.5a as follows:
1616 6 (325 ILCS 5/7.5a new)
1717 7 Sec. 7.5a. Phase-in plan for mandatory intact family
1818 8 services. The Department shall develop a plan to phase in
1919 9 mandatory intact family services for at-risk families who are
2020 10 in need of continuing assistance and monitoring following a
2121 11 child abuse or neglect investigation. Under the plan, if after
2222 12 conducting a child abuse or neglect investigation the
2323 13 Department determines that the family of the child who is the
2424 14 subject of the report qualifies for intact family services,
2525 15 the Department shall open an intact family services case for
2626 16 the child and enroll the family in the Department's Intact
2727 17 Family Services Program where the child and family shall be
2828 18 assigned to an intact family services provider contracted with
2929 19 the Department. The Department may adopt any rules necessary
