4-AN ACT concerning regulation.
5-Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
6-represented in the General Assembly:
7-Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
8-changing Section 356z.33 as follows:
9-(215 ILCS 5/356z.33)
10-Sec. 356z.33. Coverage for epinephrine injectors.
11-(a) A group or individual policy of accident and health
12-insurance or a managed care plan that is amended, delivered,
13-issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2020 (the effective
14-date of Public Act 101-281) shall provide coverage for
15-medically necessary epinephrine injectors for persons 18 years
16-of age or under. As used in this Section, "epinephrine
17-injector" has the meaning given to that term in Section 5 of
18-the Epinephrine Injector Act.
19-(b) An insurer that provides coverage for medically
20-necessary epinephrine injectors shall limit the total amount
21-that an insured is required to pay for a twin-pack of medically
22-necessary epinephrine injectors at an amount not to exceed
23-$60, regardless of the type of epinephrine injector.
24-(c) Nothing in this Section prevents an insurer from
25-reducing an insured's cost sharing by an amount greater than
26-the amount specified in subsection (b).

4+2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
