11	11	1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
15	15	5 Section 18c-7505 as follows:
16	16	6 (625 ILCS 5/18c-7505 new)
17	17	7 Sec. 18c-7505. Proof of financial responsibility;
18	18	8 uninsured motorists. As part of proof of financial
19	19	9 responsibility, every rail carrier shall verify hit and run
20	20	10 and uninsured motor vehicle coverage, as provided in Section
21	21	11 143a of the Illinois Insurance Code, and underinsured motor
22	22	12 vehicle coverage, as provided in Section 143a-2 of the
23	23	13 Illinois Insurance Code, in a total amount of not less than
24	24	14 $250,000 per passenger.
